About wake up to waste

The Environment and Heritage Service (EHS) wishes to raise the profile of waste management in coming years, and to encourage everyone to use resources more efficiently. We recognize that young people have an important role to play in changing attitudes and practices not just in their present homes, but equally, in households and organizations they will form and manage in the future.

As an integral part of the Waste Management Strategy, EHS has undertaken to develop a long-term educational programme in partnership with the Local Councils, voluntary sector, business, schools and colleges to inform and educate the current and future generations as to how they can shape a new, more sustainable Northern Ireland.
