Regeneration of a key solution in the production process has allowed Bombardier Aerospace Shorts to reduce waste production by 1000 tonnes per annum and reduced chemical consumption by 80%.

The caustic chemi-milling solution was previously being disposed of at some considerable cost and by the institution of a new process there has been a significant reduction in waste output a reduction in the use of raw chemicals and an enhancement in the surface finish of the products.
