Environmental Management System (EMS)

Progress on the DOE waste audit has led to the development of an Environmental Management System (EMS) pilot within the Department. In May 2005 the EMS was recommended for ISO 14001 accreditation.

An extensive environmental management programme arising from the EMS will improve environmental performance in a number of areas.

In all, the EMS has given rise to in excess of 60 environmental improvement objectives, ranging from changing site based business through to influencing the business of clients and subcontractors.
