Glass Waste
Activity – Frosted Glass
Note: you may wish to use this activity with older pupils
You will need
- Empty jars
- A selection of old nail polish in lots of different colours
- Salt
- Glitter
What to Do
- Wash and dry the jars to remove any marks or labels
- Paint the outside of the jars with nail polish. Use 1 or more colours
and different shapes and designs to make your jars more interesting and original
- Allow the nail polish to dry then put a coat of clear polish over the top
- While the top coat is drying sprinkle some salt or glitter over the jars.
This gives them a frosted, shimmery look
- If there is no clear polish available the salt or glitter can be sprinkled
on when drying. Both ways give a good effect
