Hazardous Waste Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005

New Hazardous Waste Regulations came into force in Northern Ireland on 16 July 2005.

The new regulations change the way waste is classified with the result that more waste is now defined as Hazardous.

Among the waste which is now classified as Hazardous are everyday things like:

  • Fluorescent light tubes
  • Television and computer screens
  • Printer toner cartridges.
